Launched in March 2012,
The Grunion Run is an online groomsmen shop run by husband + wife, Kevin + Yun.
Inspired by the growing trend toward more creative, less traditional wedding looks, we wanted to create
an easy place for grooms and brides to find stylish, affordable pieces for their groomsmen. With so many
wonderful and amazing resources available for brides and bridesmaids, we wondered, what about the guys?
Thus was born
The Grunion Run Groomsmen Shop.

exactly is a Grunion Run?
The
Grunion are fish native to the coasts of California, USA and Baja California, Mexico.
These fish have a unique mating ritual which is known in SoCal as the Grunion Run.

When we were looking for a name, we wanted something that would represent our little shop's California
roots as well as the unique creativity of our grooms and groomsmen. And being the creatively clever people
that we are (but of course!), we thought about combining the words Groom + Union which naturally equals,
Grunion. Brilliant! Since grunion get together in a way that is special to their species, and we hope our
clothes will help people express themselves in their own special way for their weddings, the name seemed
like the perfect match.
So there you have it.
